1-where are you from?
Kalamazoo,MI
2- what do you do in the band?
Play drums and yell.
3- what are your upcoming projects?
We are about to put out a 7’ split with Innards from Ft. Worth,TX on Carucage Records, Black With Sap Records and The Ghost is Clear Records. The record is at the plant right now and will hopefully be here in time for our tour with Innards to California and back in January.
4- tell us something that we don’t know but should know about your band.
We are all die hard WWE wrestling fans.
5- what bands do you like these days? what have you listened to today?
Today I’ve listened to Cloud Mouth, Loma Prieta, Electric Wizard, Refused and some Further Seems Forever. Cloud Mouth is huge for me right now, their new 10” slays and there is not a single thing they put out I don’t like. There are my favoritessssss.
6- do you have friends in bands or who run labels/zines that we should
know about?
Yes, too many to list but here are some. Keith from Empire! Empire! runs Count Your Lucky Stars Records and has done amazing things for us. Also Bobby Johnson from Canyons who runs The Ghost Is Clear Records has done the same. This winter we will be touring with Innards from Ft. Worth,TX and Living and Wrestling from Milwaukee,WI. Also we just released a 7” and toured to Canada with our good friends, Jowls. They have just became a three piece and picked up John Harmon from Cloud Mouth(amazing band) as their new bass player.
7- why are you in a band and what do you want to accomplish in said band?
When I was in high school, I had some friends that were in a band that toured and was always fascinated that they could travel around all weekend playing shows and they would come back to tell me stories about all the new friends they made just cause they played shows together. Making friends, seeing new places and how people do shit in their town is a big reason I’m in a band. When I think about how many people I’ve met by doing this band, it blows my mind. The goals I have for this band are to just keep playing new and weird places and keep putting out releases with our friends and their help.
8- how did you decide upon your band’s name?
We just needed a name for our first show we were gonna play and Jon had thought of it as a name for a song he wanted to title. But we decided to use The Reptilian as a band name instead. I dont think its the greatest band name and we thought about changing it when we became a 3 piece but I’m glad we stuck with it. Its real durpy just like all of us.
9- when was the last time you slept on a floor?
Last Saturday at my friends cabin in the woods
10- do you have anything more to say?
I really really like your band. It was so much fun playing with you dudes in Ottawa and that CD fuckin rips.
